Objectives:

Incorporate digital images into animation and video software to create time based art.

Requirements:

REVISED: Students must turn in the following

• One 30 second special effects video that includes animated text, an animated layered photoshop file, and a gallery of images from this semester. The project should be posted to You Tube.

Deadline: December 9, 2009

Research

Study online examples of artist films and videos. Discuss how are images, sound, and text used to explain a story or to illustrate a concept. Is the narrative linear, symbolic, abstract, or a more complex meta-narrative? Site the sources used for quotes and images. Artists and terms:Persistence of Vision, Zoetrope, Eadweard Muybridge, Chris Burden, Bruce Nauman, Diago Vertov, One-Minute Films.
