Rotoscoping Tutorial
- Open sequence of 6 - 8 images in Adobe Photoshop.
- Slightly blur the image with the Gausian Blur filter to reduce detail.
- Use the threshold command to make the image high contrast. [Image menu: adjust: threshold]
Note: You can lasso part of the image before you use the threshold command to adjust parts of the image differently.
- Save the images in a JPG format.
- Open Macromedia Flash.
- Select Import: Import to stage. (If you named your files in numerical order, then you should
get the dialog box asking you to import the sequence. Select Yes.)
- The images will be on the timeline.
- Use Modify: Bitmap: Trace Bitmap to convert the images into vector graphics.(Color Threshold = 200;
Minimum Area = 3 pixels; Curve Fit = Pixels; Corner Threshold = Many Corners.)
- Test your movie.
- Change the background color of your movie and add an invisible button to play the movie.
- Save your file and publish it to the web.
