Use proceedures identified below to create, save, publish and transfer a Flash file to your web directory.
Procedures
Students will use the following procedure when completing work for this class.
- NOTE: do not use spaces in the title of your file
- NOTE: if you use File Menu: Publish Settings to publish your file, there are a number of additional settings that allow you to customize the way your Flash file appears on the web.
- On the D drive of the computer create a folder with today's date (example: exercise_01_12_07)
- Create a Flash FLA file.
- Save your Flash file (FLA file) to the folder
- Publish the file to create the SWF, JS and HTML files necessary to view
from the Internet.
- File Menu: Publish
- Use FTP software to post the folder to your website with the fla, js swf and html files included
- Test your file.
- FTP Instructions
- Open WS FTP software to transfer your files to your student web directory.
- Type the following information into the correct spaces
- Host: ftp.mmlab2.rlc.dcccd.edu
- Type: Auto detect
- ID: Webxxx (your student web ID number)
- Password: xxxx
- On the left locate the directory with your files on the "D" drive of the local computer
- Select the folder with your published Flash files and click the arrow pointing to the right. This will transfer your files to student web directory
- Be patient and test your work. Use the link to the student pages to view the work.
