Homework #13 --
Assignment: jQuery HTML and CSS (Dynamic Pages with jQuery)
Remember to follow all the standard requirements.
In this assignment you will add to one of your pages, the capability
of the user to pick the font family that the browser should
use to display the contents of another part of the page.
You should use the third CSS example ("CSS Example 3") in the e-Handout to get some ideas and
hints about how to accomplish this assignment.
In the real world, this capability to pick a font family would probably be
combined with cookies or with HTML5 Local Storage or Session Storage to save
the user's choice for future use. This class does not cover this concept, though,
so it will not be necessary to add this future-oriented capability to this assignment.
The main things I am looking for in this assignment are:
- You need to use jQuery selector(s) and function(s) to get the user's choice of font family.
- You also need to use jQuery selector(s) and function(s) to set the font family for the part of the
page that you want to change the font family for.
When you are done adding and testing your jQuery code,
validate your html page with the W3C's
page. I will also be validating your page, so this
validation will be part of your grade. Your page should
validate as an HTML5 page.
If you made any changes to your external stylesheet,
validate your external stylesheet page with the W3C's
page. I will also be validating
your stylesheet page, so this
validation will be part of your grade.
Upload your pages to your Freehostia site.
You can test your page on the class server by selecting the
"Student Sites" link on the class site, and then
clicking your name in the bulleted list.
