Homework #6 --
Non-Scrolling Table Header
Remember to follow all the standard requirements.
This assignment will demonstrate:
Tables with headings and footers that don't scroll off the page
In this assignment, you will add a very long table (meaning,
that it has lots of rows of data) to one of your pages. The table's heading and footer
will not scroll (meaning,
the table's heading and footer will remain in place while the data rows scroll).
To be more specific: Add a table with lots of data in it, to one of your pages. You can
use whatever data you
wish, as long as it is not illegal, defamatory, or offensive. Put enough rows of data
into your table so that the user is required to scroll the data to see the bottom rows.
Design the table's heading and footer rows so the heading and footer
information does not scroll as the user
scrolls through the data rows.
Use your external style sheet to format your table.
Validate your modified page with the W3C's
page. I will also be validating your page, so this
validation will be part of your grade. Your page should
validate as an HTML5 page.
Validate your style sheet with the W3C's
page. I will also be validating
your style sheet, so this
validation will be part of your grade.
Upload your pages to your Freehostia site.
You can test your pages on the class server by selecting the
"Student Sites" link on the class site and then
clicking your name in the bulleted list.
Use class selectors in your stylesheet to format the column widths.
