1. What kind of degree is this?

We offer an Associate's Degree in Interactive Simulation & Game Technology.

2. Once I earn this degree, will I still be able to continue my education?

Of course, either use this degree and work your way into the field or continue with getting a bachelors or even a masters. Our associates in game design will introduce you to the many career possibilities as well as build a strong foundation of creative & technical skills needed by industry professionals. Richland has designed the program to allow you to develop your talents.

4. As a high school student, what can I do to prepare myself for a career in game development?

Drawing, painting, sculpture, computer science, storytelling etc. A strong foundation in the arts and computer science is significant. It�s always great to learn teamwork and interpersonal skills early on, as they are the building blocks for any field. Our faculty includes these relevant and critical skills in their course design.

5. Will I be able to find a job?

7. What kind of skills do employers look for in the gaming industry?

The creative & technical skills are always important, however teamwork and efficient workflow is key.

8. What programs will we be using?

We use 3DSMax, Softimage XSI, Zbrush and Maya. Of course Photoshop. We like to refer to Photoshop as the "Duct Tape" in this industry.
