Unit 1: Self Portrait

Exercise 1: Personal List: Make a list of ten of your favorite things

Exercise 2:  Academic List: Make a list of ten topics you learned about and find interesting while you have been in classes at RCHS. Be specific rather than general. (example: instead of saying American history, give an example from the life of Benjamin Franklin that you found fascinating.)

Assignment 1: Self Portrait.  Due Friday Sept 4
Make a Photoshop collage that incorporates imagery from several items on your Personal List. You must use at least 5 to 7 layers. Concentrate on using design elements and principles effectively.

Assignment 2. Academic Portrait: Due Friday Sept 11
Create a photoshop collage that illustrates one or more of the concepts you identified in your Academic list. You must incorporate text. Consider: leading, kerning and tracking; text effects

Assignment 3: Story telling. Due September 18
Create an image sequence that tells a story or a scene from a story. Use yourself and fellow students as characters in the story. EXAMPLES

Assignment 4: Create a home page and a Unit I page. Due Sept 25
Incorporate the following:

• hyperlinks to the following: “Home, Unit I, Unit II, Unit III.” We will add Unit II and III pages later.
• An animated banner or animated gif.
• In the Unit I page, add jpegs versions of Assignment 1,2 and 3. Also give a brief explanation of the images.
