Digitizing Sound
For this assignment you will create a simple web page with the following criteria for completion.
DUE: Wednesday March 11, 2009 class time
Using Sound Forge and your understanding of digitizing sound, you will create a web page with examples of 3 sound samples.
Specifications for Web page:
- Create a sound folder
- Save your web page file as 2initials_asg4.html inside your sound folder
- Change the default white background to color of choice
- Include a heading 1 indicating - topic: Digitizing Sound
- Add Fair Use Statement
- Add an image related to music or sound (no larger than 250 x 250 px)
- Add a heading 2 titled CD sample
- Create a 45 second sample of sound captured from a music CD
- Save sample as a.wav inside your sound folder
- Create player to hear music CD sample on the web page
- Include file size, format and copyright info
- Save same 30 second sample as a .mp3 inside your sound folder
- Create player to hear sample on the web page
- Include file size, format and copyright info on the web page
- Add a heading 2 titled Voice Sample
- Create a 30 second sample of your voice
- Save 30 second sample as a.wav inside your sound folder
- Create player to hear voice sample
- Include file size and format
- Save same 30 second voice sample as an mp3 inside your sound folder
- Create player to hear voice sample
- Include file size and format
- Add a heading 2 titled Voice/Music Mix Sample
- Create a 45 second sample of your voice mixed with your music cd
- Save 45 second mixed sample as a.wav inside your sound folder
- Create player to hear sample
- Include file size and format
- Save same 45 second sample as a .mp3
- Create player to hear sample inside your sound folder
- Include file size and format
- FTP SOUND FOLDER to the mmlab2 server
- Don't forget to FTP all sound files INSIDE THE SOUND FOLDER
- Add a link to your homepage - Assignment 4 - Sound
- Bonus: 4 points - only for web pages submitted by deadline
- Add a wallpaper related to sound
- Make each heading a different color
- Place filesize, format and copyright info in an unordered list
- Add an animation - must be related to sound or music
