  1. PROJECT 2 - In class project

    It is your turn to see what you find on the Internet regarding Copyright and Fair Use guidelines for students or if there are other guidelines available for students to be compliant in their research for projects and class assignments.
    The emphasis of your research will be on students, not teachers.

    Prj 2.1 - Create the team

    1. Create a team of 3 students
    2. Choose who you want to work with
    3. Decide on a team name
    4. Include name of each team member
    5. Decide on a Project manager to oversee the project (PMgr gets 2 bonus points on successful completion of the project)

    Prj 2.2 Using a wiki for collaboration:
    This link will take you to the wiki and allow you to create and edit pages, add to discussions, and upload files using a username and password ( provided in class).

    1. Instructions will be available on your wiki team page
    2. You will need to divide the following topics between each team member
      1. What is copyright? What does copyright mean?
      2. What is fair use for multimedia?What do you as a student have legal access to use?
      3. What guidelines should students follow when conducting Internet research? Min.5
    3. CREATE A PAGE FOR EACH TEAM MEMBER for them to add their research
    4. You will have 30-45 minutes to complete the web research
    5. Each team member must research a different topic
    6. Write your findings in the team wiki.
    7. You can copy direct statements but paraphrase on the team wiki.
    8. Write a minimum of 2 paragraphs for each topic
    9. Each paragraph must have at least 4-6 sentences
    10. Include a min. of 2 links where topic information was located
    11. Save your wiki page often
    12. Search for related images
    13. Upload min. 2 image files to team wiki page( optimize if necessary, no image larger than 250 x 250 pxs

 

  1. Your final team wiki should have:

  3. Customize the team wiki and add pages for each team member- Prj2.2
  4. topic research results posted on team wiki -Prj2.3
  5. 2 links per team member- Prj2.4
  6. 2 images per team member

    Prj 2.3 - Project WEBSITE- ONE per team member

    1. Create a 2 page website
    2. Webpage 1: filename 2 initials_definition.html
      1. Create heading 1 - Copyright and fair use definitions
      2. create navbar at top linking definition page and observation page
      3. add hr
      4. Using the information provided on the wiki site to answer the 3 questions researched.
      5. Definitions and answers should be in your own words
      6. include citations to your answers by including at least 2 links from the wiki
      7. Add an animated gif you created in Photoshop
      8. add bgcolor and text color
    3. Web page 2: filename 2initials_observation.html
      1. Create heading 1 - Observations
      2. add navbar
      3. add hr
      4. Provide subjective answers to the following questions:
        1. What did you find out about copyright, that you did not know previously?
        2. What did your web research reveal?
        3. What is your opinion about copyright and fair use?
        4. Min. 1 5-6 sentence paragraph per question.
      5. Include at least one copyright related graphic from wiki
      6. ftp pages and images
      7. add link on homepage to definition.html

      Your final project 2 student website should have:

      1. 2 web pages
      2. 2 initials_definition.html and 2initials_observation.html
      3. ftp'd to student server
      4. link provided on homepage to 2 initials_definition.html
