Complete hectic chaos is how I would describe the traffic here in Shanghai. I was flown here on a business trip over two weeks ago. The first thing I noticed was the population overflow and how they handled the road. People, bicycles, motorcycles, taxis and vehicles everywhere! The constant honking of horns rings right through your ears.
The people here rarely, if ever, use turn signals. They cut in front of other cars and drive right through red lights. There are more pedestrians and bicycles than vehicles so they seem to just walk, run and bike anywhere they please. It is a rollercoaster ride during the drive from my hotel to the office. The people here are so used to it that don't have a care in the world.
