The purpose of tonight's class is to learn JavaScript syntax (rules). We will continue with Lesson 9 - Javascript. We'll start by looking at these example files. We will cover the following tutorials:

If you’ve never programmed before, learning JavaScript may be slightly difficult, so be patient, read and reread the tutorials and chapters from the book. Also try out some of the examples. Experimenting is the best way to learn a programming language. After reading the tutorials, complete Assignment 8. Then try out these exercises from the book:

Tonight we will cover Lesson 9 - Javascript. The main focus will be Assignment 8.

We will cover the assignments and demonstrate how to complete them. Examples of completed assignments and various CSS techniques are under web7185.

Template

Tonight we will cover 2 ways of creating a templating system to use when designing a website. Server Side Includes (SSI) is simple way without the use of software. Adobe Dreamweaver allows you create a template page and then create pages based on the template. Complete Assignment 6.

  • You can get a screen capture by using the "Print Screen" key and pasting into MS Word or Photoshop or another image editor.
  • You can get a screen capture by using ScreenCapture32.

Getting Started

  2. Complete and email me the Student Acknowledgement Form.

  4. Read Lesson 1.
  5. Complete Assignment 1.
  6. Use the Grade Assignment Form to let me know you are finished with Assignment 1. I'll send you an email with your grade or I'll tell you what you need to add/modify.
