Second Life:

Montse Anderson, DCCCD Second Life Project Manager will discussed practical and innovative aspects of being a Second Life developer.

Second Life, Dcccd Island

"Virtual World noobies start by navigating, then shopping. All this leads up to the point where using other people's creations is no longer personal enough and no longer representative of one's "self" in the world."

This can happen after a week, month or year but at some point there is a need to shape one's environment and the way to do that is to  learn to build and customize.

Academic opportunities are expanding as colleges like DCCCD explore this emerging arena for scripting simulations and training. The social aspects abound as you network with people from all over the world as you create and host spaces for friends and like minded people.

"Second Life offers unique business opportunities for corporate involvement for learning, marketing and next-gen perspectives."
